The Annual Weary Dunlop Appeal 12-25 July 2005

20 Years Supporting Veterans' Medical Research !

This year again, The Sir Edward Dunlop Medical Research Foundation is holding The Annual Weary Dunlop Appeal, an opportunity for Australians to give generously to help Australian medical research; a chance to perpetuate the selfless and steadfast spirit of the Foundation’s namesake, Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop.

The Annual Weary Dunlop Appeal 2005 has the official patronage of Prime Minister John Howard, Sir Arvi Parbo, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, Bert Newton, Ernie Sigley, Tony Charlton and Hugh Morgan.

It will be launched throughout Victoria at the Commemorative Service on 12 July, at Weary’s statue on St. Kilda Road, and will run for the two weeks until July 25. The service will be attended by Patrons of the Weary Dunlop Appeal as well as dignitaries from the Australian Defence Forces, RSL network and other service organizations.

Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop

During the two weeks of the appeal, we aim to sell Weary Dunlop lapel pins in the Melbourne city centre and around the state through the efforts of RSL branches, hospitals, schools and other community groups.

You can help us to help others by making a different kind of donation – your time and effort. We are seeking volunteers to help before and during the two-week campaign by selling Weary Dunlop lapel pins, by assisting us with administrative and logistical support and/or by displaying posters and printed materials in the community in order to raise awareness and understanding of the Foundation and the appeal.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Weary Dunlop Annual Appeal, please fill out and submit the form here and we will contact you with further information.

Activities you may wish to volunteer for:

a) Actively selling a tray of Weary Dunlop lapel pins in your local community, workplace or other location during the period 12-25 July 2005
b) Staffing of one of our Weary Dunlop lapel pin selling sites, for a couple of hours up to a full day, during the appeal
c) Assisting us with vehicle deliveries and pickups across Melbourne
d) Other administrative tasks
e) Displaying posters and printed material within your community.
