Applications
for Medical Research Grants 2005
The main objective of the Foundation is to promote
medical research, primarily for the benefit of war veterans’ and
their dependants.

Applications
are called for the following areas of research:
1.
Cardiovascular disease with an emphasis on prevention, early
detection and clinical management.
2.
Cancer with an emphasis on prevention and prostate cancer.
3.
Clinical evaluation of post traumatic stress disorder

 |
Grants
are available for individual projects in the sums of $15,000 and $20,000.
Applicants should note that:

(i) |
Applications need to be directed to the treatment of
specific veteran groups or the military. |
|
(ii) |
Applications must address the significance of the proposed
studies to this population. |
|
(iii) |
Successful applicants must be prepared to present their work
at the Foundations symposium. |
|
(iv) |
Preference will be given to high quality applicants in the
early stages of their careers, i.e. 8 years or less
postdoctoral applicants. |

(v) |

that include a broad mix of basic and clinical research from all
states in Australia as well as overseas. The committee members are:
